Kate Moreland is President for the Iowa City Area Development Group.
Kate leads investor outreach and engagement, including individual and group collaborations pertaining to pressing economic development issues such as workforce development, existing industry, and entrepreneurial development.
Kate graduated from the University of Iowa Law School in 1997 and worked as an attorney until 2005. Kate has been an adjunct faculty member at Kirkwood Community College and the University of Iowa College of Law. Kate worked as the Development Director for United Action for Youth and most recently she worked as Director of Community Relations for the Iowa City Community School District. As a member of the Superintendent’s Executive Cabinet she coordinated all district communication and developed and maintained active and productive relationships with key community leaders, the press and other organizations.
Kate has served on a number of boards. She received an ISPRA Communication award in 2013 and was awarded the Corridor Business Journal Forty Under 40 in 2011.
