Randy’s Flooring Opens New Cedar Rapids Store, Transitions to Employee Owned 

Randy’s has a new logo and website and is giving away $40,000 in flooring at its April 29th–May 6th Cedar Rapids store grand opening!

Randy’s Flooring, formerly Randy’s Carpet and Interiors, has opened a new store in Cedar Rapids at 280 Blairs Ferry Road, NE, across from Volleys.

Cedar Rapids Store Manager Russ Seaver said, “Together, our stores in Cedar Rapids and Coralville have made us the largest supplier of flooring in eastern Iowa. The new Cedar Rapids store will be a true destination for folks looking for any type of flooring or window treatments. It is by far the most appealing flooring store I have seen in the 43 years I have been in the business. It is bright, open, and easy to shop with the largest selection you will find anywhere.”

The Cedar Rapids store has a 23,000 sq. ft. showroom that includes a coffee and tech bar, a 6,000 sq. ft. Value Center that features in-stock items such as carpet, remnants, wood, ceramic, laminate, vinyl and vinyl tile, and a warehouse with state-of-the-art climate control for storing hardwood flooring. Both the Cedar Rapids and Coralville stores are also Hunter Douglas Gallery Showrooms, which means they offer the area’s most complete selection of window treatments.

Randy’s Flooring was started by Randy Ward 40 years ago. In the Spring of 2016, Ward sold the business to the employees. “Randy’s being employee-owned will allow us to continue to grow and stay strong over the next 40+ years,” Seaver said. “ Unlike smaller, single owner stores who in today’s world retire and close their doors, Randy’s Flooring will remain locally owned and continue to deliver the level of customer service and personal attention that has helped us stand behind our product for decades. Randy’s Flooring will celebrate its Cedar Rapids Grand Opening April 29th-May 6th. In honor of the company’s 40th anniversary, Randy’s will give away $40,000 in flooring.

“It’s an honor to have reached 40 years in the flooring business,” said Ward who founded the business in the late 1970s. “I opened the business in Iowa City just days after finishing my finals at the University of Iowa. Within a year, we moved to our current location on the Coralville Strip – long before the street had stoplights. It’s been an amazing journey, and I look forward to seeing where the business will go from here.”
